Abstract submission guidelines to the 3rd Virtual Geoscience Conference. |
Themes
For a non-exhaustive list of relevant conference themes, please see the conference theme page. Please contact us if you are unsure how your topic fits into the scope of VGC.
Formats
VGC 2018 will have Oral and Poster presentation streams, organised into specific sessions in the conference programme. Authors can indicate their preference during submission, which will be accommodated where possible after review by the scientific committee and programme organisers.
Interactive sessions
In addition, we will offer Interactive sessions, giving presenters the opportunity to showcase specific software they have developed, great datasets, methods, results etc. We provide screens, and presenters can connect their own computers in an informal alternative to the Poster format, allowing more in-depth discussion than in oral sessions. Technical guidelines will be published closer to the date. Please indicate if you would be interested in an Interactive session during abstract submission, along with a simple description of the envisaged content. Interactive sessions may be selected as the only form of submission (alternative to Poster), or as a supplement to Oral/Poster presentations. As we have a limited number of screens available, Interactive presentations will be allocated at the discretion of the organising committee. Commercial companies should contact us regarding exhibition space.
Guidelines for abstract preparation and submission
Please submit your abstract (300-500 words, plus illustrative figure(s), fitting on max 2 letter size pages) formatted according to the mandatory template document. Accepted abstracts will be compiled into a proceedings volume and distributed to delegates. Please observe the following points when preparing your abstract:
You will receive a confirmation email on successful submission of the abstract. Your abstract may be updated at any point before the submission deadline by resubmitting it; the last submitted version will be used for review purposes.
Submission of an abstract carries with it the obligation that it is presented at the conference by one of the authors (main or presenting author).
ABSTRACT SUBMISSION CLOSED
Do not hesitate to contact us if you have questions about abstract topics or document preparation and submission.
