The VOG Group will host a virtual field experience session at this year's DIGEX Digital Subsurface conference. The global pandemic has caused a major rethink in how we can conduct field-based learning whilst not being able to go to the field. While not a replacement for field excursions or fieldwork, virtual field trips give us the chance to keep in touch with the rocks. As part of the conference we will give a multiscale virtual field trip to the Book Cliffs of Utah, USA. This is a classic field area, visited by many geologists in industry and academia. We aim to convey the value of virtual outcrops across the range of scales from regional down to hand specimen and even beyond!
The session will be run Thursday 18 February at 11.45.
Thanks to Geonova and the organising committee for inviting us to this event (and for the nice poster image!).
