LIME: Show off your 3D environment

Thanks to breakthroughs in geospatial measurement and visualisation, it is easier than ever to acquire and work with 3D models. We can generate accurate digital representations of natural topography, buildings and museum pieces at a range of scales. In geoscience and geology, lidar, photogrammetry (structure from motion - SfM) from drones and a wealth of publicly available data sources are available. A plethora of applications are benefitting from 3D models for further analysis and integration of project datasets - from digital outcrop analysis and geomorphology to cultural heritage, education and more.

Despite the automation and ease of generating 3D models, application-specific analysis and visualisation is still difficult to achieve, as processing software is typically not designed to go beyond model creation. This is where LIME comes in. Developed by a leading group in virtual 3D geoscience, who know the applications and needs related to 3D data, LIME is a high performance software tool for interpreting 3D models, combining and integrating spatial and image data and creating high quality 3D presentations. The aim is to prepare unique and aesthetically-pleasing visual results that allow users to create the maximum visual impact to showcase their project results to stakeholders. And it goes further: LIME can be used for creating virtual field trips and presenting content within the 3D environment.

All images you see on this site have been created in LIME, with zero editing or enhancement in image processing software afterwards.

What you see is what you get!
